Bioscope: Stories from a Closet
This miniature was born during the stillness of the lockdown—when movement paused, but imagination didn’t. With no
access to stores, I turned inward, opening my closet to rediscover fragments I had collected over years. Bits of metal, broken toys, forgotten odds and ends objects waiting for a second life.
Slowly, they came together to form a Bioscope a tiny world on wheels. A cycle carrying stories, colours, and sounds of another time. The soul of this piece is deeply inspired by Rajasthan: its folk vibrancy, hand-painted signboards, travelling entertainers, and the quiet poetry of roadside wonders.
What fascinates me most is that nothing here was newly acquired. Every part had a past. Lockdown simply gave them purpose. This Bioscope is a reminder that creativity doesn’t need abundance just attention. Sometimes, the most meaningful stories are already sitting quietly in our closets, waiting to be discovered.
